Cornerstone Church has been a bulwark of Evangelical Christianity since 2014, when it was founded by Pastor Manuel Ortiz and his wife, Heather. Their goal was to bring Christianity and a Church to English-speaking people of all nationalities. who live or vacation in or near Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Their goal has been a success and their Church now encompasses multiple services on Sundays, an equipping class on Wednesdays, a Christian café and bookstore which allows guests to have a small taste of the Christian lifestyle, a seminary for local pastors, a thriving children´s and teen´s ministry, with over 125 members. Over the years, they have saved over 200 people and baptized nearly 130!

A few months ago, Pastor Manny, became ill. He has seen numerous specialists in Playa del Carmen, in Merida, and now in Mexico City, where he is undergoing intense physical therapy. Unfortunately, the doctors have yet to come to a definitive conclusion about his condition, which is not getting better fast.

​

Pastor Manny’s illness has thrown the Church into turmoil. Heather is trying to keep things afloat, working tirelessly with Church members to weather this storm. But the Church is foundering and is behind in rent and light payments and basic maintenance.

We need your assistance, not just with Church expenses but to help Pastor Manny,

who is going to need more specialized, medical care. For years, Pastor Manny has served the local needs in Playa del Carmen and now we are asking you to support him. Unfortunately, because of a kidney transplant about 8 years ago, he was not able to get private medical insurance, which means that the majority of his medical expenses are being covered out of pocket.

For eight years, Cornerstone Church has been an anchor for Christian people in Playa, with its unending succor and support.
